Musher’s Challenge This overnight winter dogsled tour is for the serious adventurer who wants a taste of the Iditarod with in driving distance. Your adventure will start at the kennel, in the late afternoon, where you will help load the dogs and equipment. Then it’s off to the trail, where our run will begin. We will hit the trail at dusk, and run late into the night (the best time to run a team of huskies).

Learn how to drive a dog team first hand as you travel through one of Southern California’s most beautiful stretches of wilderness. As a member of the mushing team, you will receive hands on training in the many tasks involved in running and caring for sled dogs on the trail. This adventure is not for the couch potato, but for one that finds joy in working hard for something meaningful and memorable.
After feeding and bedding down the dogs, you will help make camp (which could include digging a snow cave).

You and your guide(s) will have a hot late night snack under the inspiring, star-filled sky. After a winter night’s sleep you will have breakfast, pack up the sled, and head for home. All the while, you will be thinking of the best way to answer your friends at work when they ask you what you did on your day off.
